Singing Still

Rosie's Marshall's Song

Singing Still is Rosie’s song that she sings in Part 7 of Rosie & The Forest King, when she first decides to break free of the constraints of memorized verse and sing her own song. I expanded this beyond the original text to make a viable song.

[Verse 1]
No more rivers, no more snow,
No more roads that I must go.
I’ve sung the songs and tales of yore,
I shall not sing them anymore.

[Chorus]
I need no map, no star to guide,
For I shall travel far and wide.
The song I sing is made of will,
And I am singing, singing still.

[Verse 2]
No careful, curated song to sing,
Just joyful truth that ever rings.
I’ll hum a tune that’s only mine.
No path, no call, no borrowed line.

[Chorus]
I need no map, no star to guide,
For I shall travel far and wide.
The song I sing is made of will,
And I am singing, singing still.

[Bridge]
No ancient chain shall bind my stride,
No echoed fear my heart divide.
I’ll sing a world that I decree,
And shape a boundless destiny.

[Verse 3]
No shadowed spell shall dim my flame,
No whispered fate shall stake its claim.
My voice will rise through mist and thorn,
My words will calm the raging storm.

[Chorus]
I need no map, no star to guide,
For I shall travel far and wide.
The song I sing is made of will,
And I am singing, singing still.

[Outro]
And I am singing, singing still.
And I am singing, singing still.
